The potter mania.... :(

I was so totally upset with one of the advertisements for the newest book by JK Rowling in the Harry Potter series. I am not able to comprehend what in that book drives people mad and crazy that they run after that book and the movie.

I am proud to say that I dont like that movie or the book. Some wild fiction of magic and sorcerery that could have taken place some indefinite time ago is glorified and given a glossy touch to attract young minds.

Its pathetic to see young minds succumbing to the lures of this unnatural fantasy. Young minds should be taught the art of creativity and social thinking, not witch craft and magic. We are doing injustice to the next generation of kids by amalgamating their minds with stuff like this.

When will this world change.

Dear Jo,

Although its your take on the potter mania. I d like to urge you to think for second why we allow children to believe in magic. The only reason that comes to me is that Magic along with its many idiosyncrasies, it also brings along with this over powering sense of hope with purpose. :)

Again Harry potter is a mania not just because it harps on magic, but also because the way the story was sketched. So clear. Almost a world on its own and the strings looped with each other so well. It harped on all the lil magical things that once did exist. But now remain a part of our mythological now, cause of their rarity.

Otherwise how would you say there was a chariot that could fly in ramayana. And how could Jesus ask the water to make way for the many immigrants :)

There is truth behind myth. Either we believe it, or we dont. Its like science. Either we believe in its power or we dont. Again, this is just my opinion, and your blog. :)
